Future Species deliver a reimagined fugue drawing from a myriad of influences. The duo strip the original routed in pop artistry back to its core, and rebuild the blocks with elevated drums and beautiful basslines. Think, shades of David Axelrod’s seminal “Ken Russell" recording, engaged to a Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young outtake whilst married to a Zero 7 soulful soliloquy. A retweak of the original that moves in parallel but hits different, into its own realm of sonics, feels and ethereal emotions.
To complete the package, Future Species enlist The Preacher (Echo Edits, Divine Discs) to deliver an otherworldly rework from the mind of an experimentalist. The “Spacewalker Mix” deploys a plethora of electrickery young and old into the mix; time stretches, octave changes, tape reverses, additional FX, cut ups, tempo drops, reverbs, delays and more, all designed to steer the ship into another dimension. A remix of a remix, completing the cycle….revisiting, reinterpreting…..reimagining.

Richard is an award winning British musician/composer/producer for the band he created with his American wife, singer, lyricist and composer Sheila Ellis, called Annabel (lee). Their debut album released in 2015 on Ninja Tune Records won the UK's Dead Albatross Music Prize, chosen from over 700 releases in the UK and Eire by over 100 judges.

Richard is a British musician and artist now based in Los Angeles with his wife Sheila Ellis, who together are known as award winning band Annabel (lee).
In late 2023 he launched his solo career with the release of the single To The Moon. Followed in 2024 by the release of his debut album Opening Scene, a mix of rock, post punk, electronica and psychedelia.
He has just launched his live six piece band, The Future Set, which includes on bass the actor James Duval, who was in Independence Day, played Frank The Rabbit in Donnie Darko, and was the lead in Greg Araki's Doom Generation trilogy.
